It’s safe to say that it’s been a rough go of things lately for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ever since Jack Flaherty went back on the injured list, the starting rotation and the team as a whole have been flat.

But after back-to-back shutout losses to the Philadelphia Phillies, their ace, Miles Mikolas went searching for solutions, and he may have found one.

Prior to yesterday’s game, Mikolas was seen burning some sage.

Ben Frederickson of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch noted on Twitter that Mikolas is big into herbal remedies, and that he had maybe lit some up last year when the Cardinals began their 17-game winning streak.

Mikolas Finds The Cure

Hey, it can’t hurt.

Perhaps that’s what sparked their comeback yesterday, along with Albert Pujols hitting home run No. 684.

If it worked last year, who’s to say it won’t work this year?

The Cardinals need some wins badly, as the Milwaukee Brewers are surging in the NL Central.

A 17-game win streak would be very beneficial for the Cards right about now.

They need to find consistency again in order to retake first place in the division.

Luckily, Mikolas may have discovered the cure to their struggles.

There’s nothing saying that herbal remedies can’t help change a struggling team’s fortunes a little.

Mikolas even said in his interview with Jim Hayes of Bally Sports Midwest that it couldn’t hurt.

The Cardinals and their fans can only hope he was right and that this will bring some success for the team.

Mikolas has been the team’s ace when it comes to pitching this year.

Let’s see if their staff ace can be the hero when it comes to finding a way to get the team going again.
