Victor Scott II picked up right where he left off last season – stealing bases. But this time, Scott stole a base for the Cardinals of St. Louis, not Springfield.
Scott, who made his MLB debut on Opening Day, picked up his first stolen base in the “Big Leagues” in the fifth inning. The Cardinals lost to the Dodgers 7-1 and Scott went hitless, but did end up with a big personal achievement nonetheless.

Scott was promoted to the MLB roster to fill the spot of Cardinals center fielder Dylan Carlson who is opening the season on the injured list due to suffering a sprained AC joint in left shoulder.
The WVU product is coming off a 2023 MiLB season in which he was named an All-Star and earned a Gold Glove while becoming a star for the Springfield Cardinals.
In his first full minor league season, Scott hit .303, crushed nine home runs, recorded 63 RBI, stole 94 bases and posted a .794 OPS. He was at top of MiLB in stolen bases throughout most of the season, racking up 94.
