Jazz-Warriors Injury Report: Chris Paul, Moses Moody Status Update
USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Jazz are set to continue their extensive home stand on Wednesday, as the Golden State Warriors visit in hopes of playing spoiler to a potential seven-game win streak. It’s a massive game for standings implications, with both teams sitting in the middle of a contested race for the Play-In Tournament.

The Jazz’s recent surge of success has allowed them to suddenly lift to the 8th seed in the Western Conference, now three games ahead of the Warriors. If Golden State wants to earn that coveted spot in the postseason, things have to turn around sooner than later.

The Warriors stand at an 18-22 record, going 3-7 in their past 10. Some positive momentum has to start going their way. However, in a game against a red-hot Jazz team, finding that momentum will be much easier said than done.

Each team released their injury reports headed into tonight’s contest:

Utah Jazz:

Taylor Hendricks- OUT (G-League)

Brice Sensabaugh- OUT (G-League)

Johnny Juzang- OUT (two-way)

Micah Potter- OUT (two-way)

Jason Preston- OUT (two-way)

Golden State Warriors:

Moses Moody- OUT (calf)

Chris Paul- OUT (hand)

Gary Payton II- OUT (hamstring)

Utah listed no surprises on their report, listing only their two rookies and two-way players as inactive. Good health continues to be on the Jazz’s side so far into 2024.

But as for the Warriors, a few rotational pieces will be sidelined for the road trip. Chris Paul is recovering from a recent surgery addressing his recent hand fracture, keeping him out of this matchup. We also won’t see Moses Moody or Gary Payton suiting up, effectively taking a substantial hit to the Golden State backcourt depth.

Considering the circumstances, there could be a chance we become witness to a vintage Steph Curry performance to drag this team out of its extended slump. Even with Golden State’s recent struggles, the Jazz defensive unit must be on top of things against this dangerous system to prevent potential chaos from unraveling in Salt Lake City.

The Jazz and Warriors will tip off at the Delta Center on Wednesday at 7 PM MT.
